How I got 10M+ app downloads without being creative
Hey there,
I rarely have any creative or original content ideas.
Most videos I post are in a format I saw somewhere else. For every app I built and for my personal brand on Instagram, TikTok, and Shorts.
It's my entire strategy, and it got me over 10M app downloads.
Most founders film something they think is clever, get 200 views, and start over the next day with no idea what went wrong.
Let's break down the 10M app downloads content strategy:
Open TikTok, type in the keywords for your niche
Filter by most-liked of all time. (You can only do this on your phone)
Now look at the proven winners, the formats that already went viral for the exact audience you want.
Save every one of them to a spreadsheet. Not a handful. All of the viral ones.
There's a Gary Vee line I read when I was first building Puff Count (acquired at $44k MRR).
Digest content in your niche for a week, save all of it, understand why each one went viral, and you'll become dramatically better at making content. That's the whole game.
Now, when it's time to post, you open the spreadsheet, pick a proven format, and recreate it for your app.
Every video you post is already proven by someone else.
I used this spreadsheet on every app I built.
So before you stress about being creative, go build the spreadsheet.
Save the winners in your niche and recreate what already works. Let everyone else stare at the blank page.
Peace,
Steven
