This 2-second trick drove thousands of downloads
Hey there,
I drove thousands of app downloads by posting a simple TikTok that got over 476k views.
Want to know how long I showed my app?
2 seconds.
At the beginning of my app journey, I was doing it backwards. Making videos that were basically app demos with screenshots and feature walkthroughs. They flopped hard, and I was stuck in 200 views jail.
Then I had this realization watching other viral content:
Nobody opens TikTok to watch ads.
That changed everything about how I approach content.
The difference between features and transformation:
Features: "Our app tracks your vaping habits with detailed analytics."
Transformation: "Crazy that people smoke these without knowing what's inside" (then I tore apart a vape on camera)
One feels like an ad. The other gets half a million views.
App marketing is a funnel, not a sales pitch:
Step 1: Get them interested enough to check the App Store
Step 2: App Store listing gets them to download
Step 3: Onboarding gets them to convert to a paying user
Stop trying to do everything in one video. Your video's only job is getting them curious enough to tap your profile and click the link.
Once I stopped trying to sell and started creating content people actually wanted to watch, everything changed.
Peace,
Steven
