This is when you hardsell on TikTok
Hey there,
Finally, you have your first viral video. 1M views, thousands of likes, comments pouring in.
Then the views slow down and the video dies.
You're back to posting content that gets 200 views.
But what if you can multiply your viral video?
When one of my TikToks went viral, I did something different:
I replied to a top comment with a new video.
That reply video showed up in the comments section of my viral video.
Every person who watched the original video saw my reply in the comments and clicked it.
100,000 views and 6,000 likes.
I stole traffic from my own viral video.
Now here’s the thing: that reply video was a hard sales pitch.
Normally, hard selling on TikTok kills your content because people scroll past immediately.
But reply-to-comment videos are different.
The traffic is already there, they're already engaged, and they've already watched your viral video.
So you can pitch directly.
I showed the app, walked through the features, and told people exactly why they should download it.
That video would've died at 200 views if I posted it normally.
But because it was a reply, it crushed.
This is the only time you're allowed to hard sell on TikTok.
Most founders don't know this exists, while I'm squeezing every download out of that viral traffic.
When you see a video taking off, reply to the top comments immediately.
Those reply videos will show up in the comments and steal views from the original.
And you can hard-sell because the audience is already invested.
Peace,
Steven
